About the Greater Glider

Greater Gliders are one of Australia’s cutest marsupials. These fluffy, wide-eyed nocturnal gliders drift silently from tree to tree in eastern Australia, using a thin membrane of skin between their limbs, to glide distances of up to 100 metres. 

But these tiny creatures are in big trouble. Sadly, across New South Wales, Greater Glider populations have plummeted by up to 80%, largely due to native forest logging, land clearing, and increasingly severe bushfires. Once common in old-growth forests, they’re now officially listed as Endangered, and their future depends on urgent action to protect the forests they call home.
